Meadowview Construction FAQ

Do you have references?
Yes. We will happily provide you with a list of references from customers that have had a similar project to yours.

What do you do to protect the house during construction?
In addition to our daily cleaning routine we protect your home from top to bottom to prevent damage from dust, debris, and weather. This includes carpet protection, hardwood floor runners, plastic dust barriers, and temporary walls to keep out dust and sound. We will do anything we can do to make your experience more pleasant.

For our new kitchen renovation, how long will we be without our kitchen?
That depends on the size of your project but normally we set up something temporary in another room to decrease the disruption to your daily agenda. Take out dinner seems to be the answer in most cases. Try to turn it into something fun and pretend you are going camping.

Do you build kitchen cabinets?
We can design and build the cabinets of your dreams with the help of our experienced kitchen designer. If you can dream it, we can build it. With hundreds of door styles and unlimited finish/color options available, we will bring your old kitchen space back to life again.

Do you work with Architects?
Yes. We have a great rapport with some of the best architects in the area. Our crews enjoy working cooperatively with architects and designers in more of a team approach. Our most successful projects are the result of this relationship. However, if you have someone in mind we are always open to meeting and working with someone new.

What kind of experience does your crew have?
Our knowledgeable, professional and enthusiastic crew has over 100 years of combined experience in the remodeling and building of homes. We go out of our way to employ only the best qualified carpenters in the industry.

Do you build new homes?
Yes, but our philosophy is that building a new home is easy. Taking something old and making it new again is our specialty.

How much will this project cost?
The cost of your project is up to you. We can work with you to create a budget that will allow you to get the most for your money. Although we are rarely the least expensive, we pride ourselves in creating excellent value in our projects. The price of the project is often forgotten once the enjoyment and satisfaction of a well built project is completed.

Do you take on small jobs?
Yes we do. We install doors and windows. Our crews build decks and finish basements. We will fix that loose screen and patch a hole in your wall. What do you need? We can handle just about any type of handyman project as well. Our vast network of subcontractors enables us to respond to even the most challenging problems.

Can you recommend a good sub contractor?
“You are only as strong as your weakest link.” That is why we work with only the finest subcontractors. We will fit you with the right sub for the job.

What color should I paint my kitchen or bedroom?
Color is a matter of personal taste. That is why we use professional designers and painters. Together we can present you with many ideas that will make the colors your own. We can even recommend a paint color professional from a local paint supplier to meet at your home for a Color Consultation. These are a great resource to take advantage of.

Where will you buy most of the products for our project?
We buy our products from only the best vendors and suppliers in our area and some from far away. You can be assured that Meadowview will only provide first quality products for your project. We know the value of “no call backs” and the last thing we want is for you to have a problem with something a year down the road. Prior to starting our construction project together, we can provide you with a list of our vendors so that you can visit their showrooms at the appropriate times.

How long have you been in business?
Meadowview Construction has been in business for over ten years.

How many employees do you have?
Currently we have seven full time employees and each member of our staff is a direct employee of Meadowview Construction. We do not play the independent contractor game. We are a serious and legitimate business and we play by the rules.

How many jobs do you have going at once?
We may have several jobs running at once. By utilizing the Lead Carpenter system, we are set up and organized to properly manage multiple projects simultaneously. A dedicated crew will be assigned to manage each job so your job will be completed in a timely manner without interruption. One of the things we hear the most from our clients is that they can’t believe we were on the job from start to finish. We do not leave your project until it is finished. Every once in a while there will be a day that no work takes place due to an inspection or because of a subcontractor delay. This is extremely rare and when it happens, our clients understand because we communicate with them.

Do you have the same subcontractors all the time?
During our ten year history we have developed relationships with the finest subcontractors in the area. We try to use the same subs to maintain a solid working relationship while occasionally adding new ones to our stable. We are a company that is founded on loyalty and respect. Our subs enjoy working with us because we are well organized and we treat them the way we like to be treated.

Do you have insurance?
Yes. We are fully insured. We proudly provide all of our insurance information during our first meeting.

Are your employees covered with workers compensation?
Yes, all of our employees and subs are covered.

What sets you apart from other contractors?
The “Meadowview Experience” is what sets us apart from other contractors. The company culture is unique in that we strive to be the very best people that we can be while working at your home. We have the utmost respect for your home and our whole crew will treat you kindly. Even your children and pets will enjoy having us around. We do not walk around with our shirts off. You will not hear a loud radio on our jobsites. Our language is respectable. The one positive comment we hear most often is “the guys kept the site so clean and neat”. That is the ultimate compliment for us since you will most likely not want to clean up after us when you get home after a long day at work. We manage to complete our projects in a timely manner. We do it with you in mind providing unsurpassed quality and minimal disruption to your already busy life.

Do you design?
We work together with either an architect, designer, or kitchen specialist depending on the specific needs of your project.

What is design build?
We work with you and an architect to design and build the living space you have only dreamed of.

Do you (David) work in the field?
No. We utilize the Lead Carpenter system where you are assigned a carpenter who will manage the every day activities that take place on your project. He or she will be available daily throughout the project and will be focused only on your project so you get the best service. David’s focus as the conductor is to assist the Lead Carpenters and manage your expectations. He is involved early on from the first phone call and the estimating process right through to the very end of the job. David’s role is to prepare the projects before they start so that they run smoothly. Instead of trying to be in the field during the day, picking up lumber at lunch, meeting a client on the way home from the job, and working on estimates until midnight, he can focus on serving you better. We hire only the best Lead Carpenters so that you will have nothing to worry about when it comes to experience on the job. David makes it his priority to visit the jobsite regularly to insure quality control.

How do you schedule payments?
We will work out a payment schedule with you and include it in your contract so there are no surprises.

How long will this job take?
Each project is different. A reasonable time schedule will be worked out and included in your contract.

What are your normal business hours?
Monday thru Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We find that working more that 40 hours a week decreases creativity and production. Besides, we feel that your weekends should be yours and not ours. You can always contact us in the event of an emergency.
